Glenda Borchard has been a resident of the South Coast for the last fifteen years originally coming from the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Glenda was involved in creative contemporary dance and choreography and moving to the South Coast created new opportunities to develop ceramics drawing and painting skills.
She has studied for several years through Nowra TAFE private teaching workshops and has exhibited in many local and Sydney exhibitions. She has produced a large number of works commissions and contributes to the art community of the Shoalhaven.
Glenda is a member of Arts Shoalhaven the Shoalhaven Art Society and Jervis Bay and Basin Art Society. Over the years symbolism and simple shapes have developed in her work with recurring images of little stylized houses rolling hills and waterways. Her desire is to create a language with my paintings that is immediate and direct and has emotional content. Glenda works mainly from memory and drawings.
"When I go off to the beach or river its always an opportunity to chat to locals and undertake a few sketches. The paintings that I have undertaken speak of our wonderful coastal life and relationships. I have drawn my inspiration from living in a small coastal town and the interaction of the community."
