Bungendore Wood Works Gallery opened September 14 in 1983. Thirty years later an exhibition featuring the work of 30 designer makers and artists will open that does not look to the past, but to the future. The title of the exhibition is NEXT. This is something all involved ponder, not only the very nature of the objects they design and make, but possible new directions for their practice and indeed their lives.

A Bungendore Wood Works Gallery 30th Year Anniversary Exhibition

We think the gallery looks spectacular at night, so after closing tonight we took some photos to share the space with those you who haven't visited for a while... or ever even!

Give your playful side a whirl with this Centenary of Canberra spinning top inspired by Walter Burley Griffin’s circular plan for the city. The concept for Capital Spin was created to answer the brief of the Centenary of Canberra - a legacy of good design competition to design unique, high quality objects, to be produced and sold as memorabilia for the city's centenary in 2013. Capital Spin was short listed but was not chosen as a winner, but we loved this fun product, so we went ahead with it anyway.

An Exhibition of Landscape, Flora and Fauna Watercolours by Canberra Region artist Helen Fitzgerald.
