A “wow” box by Mark Hailston just arrived. It recently won first prize at the ACT Woodcraft competition in the Boxes (not turned) category. The box core is marine plywood covered with shop made veneer. The veneer is made up of the following timbers: Blackwood, Jarrah, Wenge, Tas Oak & Celery Top Pine.

We have been having fun in the workshop creating some stunning new wood turned pieces out of Burl and Yellow Box.

After refurbishing a table he made nearly 20 years ago Gallery Artistic Director David Mac Laren revisits the design with stunning results.
Bill Burgher has crafted a very special cuff link box commission. Made from Western Australian Jarrah with three draws and a trunk lid it can store 180 pairs of cufflinks.
Year 11 Canoundra High School Design & Technology students visited the Gallery last week looking for inspiration for their major HSC projects next year.
We surprised them with an impromptu talk by Terry Martin and Zina Burloiu who were busy setting up their exhibiton. The students gained insights into Terry & Zina’s background, their work and what inspires them.
