Photographer Stan dArgeavel is the Exhibitions Marketing and Promotions Coordinator for the multi award winning Bungendore Wood Works Gallery. He began promoting in the mid 1970s as Entertainment and Community Services Manager for a large registered club in Newcastle NSW. A Bungendore resident for 22 years Stan moved from the printing industry to the Wood Works in 1999 and has been responsible for the presentation of over 100 exhibitions at the Gallery. He completed his Masters Degree at the ANU School of Art in 2005 in the Photomedia Workshop having previously graduated from the ANU in 1996 gaining his BA in History Geology and Photomedia. His graduating exhibition ...like tears in rain was featured at PhotoSpace at the ANU and in the Octagon ArtSpace at the Wood Works Gallery.
In 2006 his photographs and writings were featured in the book Out of the Woodwork the people and pIace of Bungendore and in 2007 his exhibition 3000 Words was held at Photoaccess in Manuka and drew on his work over the past 32 years. Stan has been involved in photography for over 50 years specialising in black and white. For the past 5 years he has worked with jazz icon and photographer Don Burrows presenting Stop Look and Listen a night of photography and music throughout the Eastern states.
