Join us on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd March at 6pm with Master craftsman Geoff Hannah for a magical evening of insight into the man and his masterpiece of Australian Wood Craft.
On the evening we will also be launching a Prospectus for the possible public purchase and permanent placement of the cabinet to be available to the public to enjoy for many years to come.
A limited number of places are available. Phone 6238 1682 to reserve your place.
The Hannah Cabinet is Geoff Hannah’s masterpiece and was made over a six and a half year period between 2001 and 2008 using 34 different Australian and international timbers, 4 species of shell and 17 varieties of precious and semi-precious stones with extensive marquetry inlays on 18 doors and on, and in, 140 drawers.
The cabinet is possibly the most ambitious piece of woodworking craftsmanship ever produced in Australia and is an outstanding testament to Australian skill and the passion of one of the leading figures in the woodworking craft and art genre.
The Hannah Cabinet deserves a permanent home in one of Australia’s major arts and craft Galleries or Public Institutions where it could be on permanent display and accessible to all Australians and International visitors to this country.
