Significant road works started this week at the intersection in front of the Gallery. As you can see our lovely building is hidden behind high visibility tape and machinery!
Hopefully the works will be completed soon, but in the meantime business continues as normal for both the Gallery and Cafe, we are open 7 days a week 9am to 5pm.
Here is some information on the roadworks from Transport Road & Maritime Services
New pedestrian refuges in Bungendore
Transport Road & Maritime Services
Safety improvement on Malbon Street and Ellendon Street, Bungendore from 27 April 2015
The NSW Government is funding $255,000 for this work to improve safety for pedestrians and motorists.
Roads and Maritime Services will install two pedestrian refuges on Malbon Street on either side of the intersection at Ellendon Street. The road will also be widened to allow room for pedestrians to use the refuge and to maintain the current number of parking spots.
The installation of pedestrian refuges will improve safety for pedestrians by allowing them to cross the road one lane at a time.
Changed traffic conditions
During construction there will be lane closures and reduced speed limits will be in place. Traffic will be able to pass through the work site under the guidance of traffic control.
There will be some noise associated with this work , but every effort will be made to minimise the impact on residents and businesses.
We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciate the patience of residents and road users.
